December 16th 2001

Caitlin celebrated her first birthday with a family party in our back yard.

Sarah and Ben were a big help blowing out the candle.

Caitlin didn't seem to mind Mummy taking all the smarties off her piece of cake.
"Don't even think about touching MY smarties!!!"
Papa Sims was very pleased to be part of the birthday fun.

Also there to help celebrate were, Grandma, Granddad, Ruth, Grandpa, Lola, Aunty Kim, Uncle Mark, Aunty Vivienne, Uncle Howard, Sarah, Mummy, Daddy and Benjamin.

Caitie was really excited to test out her new "car" and bypassed the "L" plates altogether

Christmas was at Apollo Bay with Grandma.  Both kids had a great time waking up early to discover what Santa had left for them.

We had Christmas dinner with Nana and Ron Schruhm.

Just before we came home the weather finally got warm enough to get on to the beach.

Ben wanted to put his swimming practice to use......until he felt how cold the water was.

We had lots of fun with the buckets and spade.

Caitlin loved playing and crawling in the sand.

She stood up without holding on to anything for the first time (and we got a photo!).

The kids' Christmas present from Mummy and Daddy was a new swing set.  Putting it together and getting it level provided hours of "entertainment" for the whole family.

The kids love the finished product.

"Sorry Mummy, but it's much more fun to have a bottle on the couch with my big brother" - Janine finally gets her independence back.

We enjoyed Paddle Boat cruise along the Murray river while on holiday at Janine's Mum's  in Wentworth.

The kids loved spending time with Nana.

We even went to our friend Alex's 4th birthday party by the river in Red Cliffs.

The ice cream cake was yummy.

Caitlin had her first violin lesson with the Sydney Youth Orchestra when they visited the Wentworth Services Club.
Easter Bunny still managed to find us in Wentworth.

Yum.

Breakfast in bed.
